Author Visits

Visiting schools and libraries with ‘Jessie and JoJo’ has been some of the greatest highlights of my literary journey. I remain humbled by the way children have shared their feelings, amazing insights, opinions and stories at the workshop sessions.

For more information on booking your own visit, please read on!

Who is Jessie & Jojo for?

Jessie and JoJo is most suitable for children in Years 1-6; and in my experience it has been better to group years 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6 together for three separate sessions. I am skilled at adapting my presentation style according to age and ability, and am happy to deliver sessions for Reception children also.

Topics covered in the workshop include;

  • Sharing worries (bother-bugs)

  • Talking about feelings

  • Diversity and inclusion

  • Friendships, what is a good friend, being a good friend

Fees & Logistics

My fees are £200 + VAT for half a day or £350 + VAT for a full day.

All books purchased by children/parents are dedicated and signed. A percentage of book sales proceeds are donated to NSPCC and WIRES.

I have a current DBS and have worked in a primary school as a School Business Manager, ELSA and Drawing and Talking Practioner.

I am based in Hampton (TW12) and in an effort to keep additional expenses to a minimum, I mainly work within a 10 mile radius of this area. By special arrangement, I am happy to travel further.

Year 6 Student

‘Jessie was scared but we can help friends who are scared or lonely by taking care of them. The story told us about that. I loved it!'

Year 1 Student

‘Mrs P’s workshop was very interactive and engaging, all of the children thoroughly enjoyed their session with her’
